A raw latin jazz night.
Presented by Belongó, GRAMMY Award-winning pianist, composer, and bandleader Arturo O’Farrill leads the 18-piece Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra. Continuing their 29 year-long weekly NYC residency, the band performs a broad spectrum of repertoire from celebrated Latin classics to original compositions and contemporary works by some of the most impactful musicians in the city. Mexican American pianist Arturo O’Farrill is a 6-time GRAMMY and 2-time Latin GRAMMY winner who bridges the gap between Latin rhythms, modern jazz, and contemporary composition. As founder and artistic director of both the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra (ALJO) and Belongó, O’Farrill plays a pivotal role in nurturing cultural dialogue through music. He has released nearly 25 albums and collaborated with legends such as Dizzy Gillespie and Tito Puente.
