Reggae En Español-Events dieses Wochenende in Madrid

Reggae en Español is a subgenre of reggae music originating primarily in Latin America and Spain, characterized by its lyrics sung in Spanish. It emerged in the late 1970s and gained significant traction from the 1980s onwards, blending the distinctive Jamaican reggae rhythms, such as the one-drop and skank guitar, with local Latin American musical traditions and sensibilities. Instrumentation typically includes bass, drums, guitar, keyboards, and often incorporates horns or Latin percussion. The mood often ranges from socially conscious and protest-oriented to romantic and celebratory, maintaining reggae's characteristic laid-back yet danceable groove, often with a slightly more upbeat feel than traditional Jamaican reggae.
