Detroit Rock-Events dieses Wochenende in San Francisco

Detroit rock emerged in the late 1960s as a high-octane, aggressive evolution of garage rock and rhythm and blues, centered in Michigan's industrial heart. This genre is characterized by heavily distorted electric guitars, driving percussion, and raw, confrontational vocals that reflect the city's blue-collar grit and urban intensity. Typically performed at high volumes with a relentless 4/4 tempo, its sound served as a vital sonic bridge connecting traditional hard rock to the impending punk rock movement. The mood is consistently rebellious and visceral, emphasizing powerful live performance over polished studio techniques, which established a lasting legacy of unrefined, high-energy rock and roll.
