Krautrock-Events dieses Wochenende in San Francisco

Krautrock, emerging from West Germany in the late 1960s, represents a transformative fusion of psychedelic rock, electronic experimentation, and avant-garde composition. Characterized by the iconic motorik beat—a repetitive, steady 4/4 rhythm—it utilizes a blend of synthesizers, guitars, and recording techniques to create hypnotic soundscapes. The genre moves away from traditional blues-based structures toward a more cosmic or cerebral atmosphere, emphasizing texture and progression over melodic hooks. As a seminal influence, it bridged the gap between early rock and modern electronic, ambient, and post-punk music, fostering a unique sonic identity referred to as Kosmische Musik by its originators.
