Drei Jungs drehen mit dem Wagen des Vaters eine Runde durch das nächtliche Hongkong und überfahren dabei aus Unachtsamkeit einen Fußgänger. Dabei werden sie von Pearl beobachtet, die die Drei fortan erpresst. Während einer Streitigkeit gelangen Pearl und die Jungs zufällig in den Besitz von chinesischen Schecks im Wert von vielen Millionen. Doch die eigentlichen Besitzer – skrupellose Söldner – sind schon unterwegs, um sich die Schecks wiederzuholen.

Colonial territory a negation of its peoples within which finds such people negating its use to the colonizers in negating the land itself. What else can you call its youth planting bombs in their own home? The act of terrorism becomes so unspokenly consigned by the city's own and their latent territorial anger that its outlet becomes those lost children who do not know their own history and do not have their own land and, unlike the older generation with ties to that land, do not care if everything goes in flames. At which point it's less of an ideological stance than it is an existential one, one where the value of life is seen more through its ability to generate the death (the negation) of other lives than in the cultivation of that life itself. No one wins, but at least they lose.
