Trumpeter, educator, producer and composer, Jacques is the winner of the JUNO 2020 award (Canadian Grammy) for « best solo jazz album » in canada for his last record MiGRATIONS Jacques Kuba Séguin is considered as one of the most adventurous and multi-talented, trumpeter of his generation. He writes for his groups of various formats: Odd Lot, Litania Projekt, or his quintet Migrations, MIKROKOSMOS, Big band and Symphonic orchestra. Séguin’s musical repertoire is by turns melodic, explosive, and accessible. As a performer, he is definitely a showman, and he is recognized as one of the most brilliant trumpeters of his generation. For more than ten years, Jacques has been regularly touring Europe, especially in Poland and in France, Germany, Norway and in other countries like Colombia, China, Quebec, and the rest of Canada. His discography as composer and bandleader includes five albums, all on the ODD SOUND label, which he founded and runs. As well as producing his albums, Jacques hosted Symphonie en bleu, the CBC/ICI Musique Classique radio show that connects classical music and jazz.
