19 Years of ARTéfacts Ensemble

A celebratory concert marking nineteen years of the ARTéfacts ensemble as part of the Contemporary Music Days festival. Curated by Ioannis Angelakis, the performance features works by Greek composers written for the ensemble over the last fifteen years. The programme maps a polyphonic landscape of contemporary styles, ranging from sound processing and physicality to humour and irony. The concert includes compositions by Dimitris Andrikopoulos, Alexandros Drosos, Panayiotis Kokoras, Kornilios Selamsis, Nicolas Tzortzis, Manos Venturas, and George Mitropoulos. The works reflect the ensemble's journey through various aesthetic directions, treating contemporary music as a vibrant, direct, and unpredictable experience. Some pieces return in new readings, while others receive their Athens premiere after being showcased abroad.
