Masayoshi Takanaka & Ginger Root
An open-air jazz fusion night.
Masayoshi Takanaka, born in Tokyo in 1953, is a legendary guitarist, composer, and producer whose sound has defined Japanese music for over five decades. From his early days with Sadistic Mika Band to iconic solo works like Blue Lagoon and Legend of the Rainbow, his vibrant guitar tones have become timeless classics. Known for electrifying live performances and collaborations with global greats such as Lee Ritenour and Carlos Santana, Takanaka has built an international legacy that bridges jazz, rock, and pop with effortless flair. Joining the lineup is Ginger Root, the project of Cameron Lew. Combining elements from contemporaries like Toro Y Moi, Vulfpeck, and Metronomy with the influences of Japanese City Pop and Philly Soul, Ginger Root offers a fresh take on the Bedroom Pop scene with a sound described as aggressive elevator soul.
