Helena Day
A slow-burn, underground folk night.
Helena Day is a folk and jazz-fusion singer-songwriter from Kent. Her soulful sound weaves a unique blend of traditional folk with elements of jazz and nu-soul, channelled through Helena’s lush vocals and dreamy live instrumental arrangements. Joined by Tom Stephenson on piano and guitar, and Mark McQuillan on upright bass, Helena presents the second single release from her upcoming album ‘When all the Birds Have Flown Away’. The album centres on the declining biodiversity of bird populations in the UK, exploring the intertwining of the personal, political, and ecological. Expect avian-themed original songs, reimagined traditional ballads, and the occasional jazz standard.
