An evening of experimental and improvised music featuring two distinct ensembles. Safe Havens (for the Abstract Truth), led by saxophonist Larry Ochs, explores collective sound-worlds rooted in the spirit of jazz and spontaneous response. Nate Wooley’s Mutual Aid Music presents a compositional ecosystem where musicians utilize over 100 micro-compositions to build a communal musical language that transcends individual performance. Both groups prioritize the social act of music-making, emphasizing concentrated listening and immediate interaction to create shifting, three-dimensional soundscapes.
