The National Symphony Orchestra makes its historic first-ever appearance at the Hollywood Bowl under Music Director Gianandrea Noseda. The program celebrates American musical identity, featuring Peter Boyer’s 'American Mosaic,' a tribute to the United States' 250th anniversary accompanied by visual art. The evening also highlights the jazz-age swagger of George Gershwin’s 'An American in Paris' and Leonard Bernstein’s 'Candide' and 'Symphonic Dances from West Side Story,' showcasing the spectrum of American popular dance from mambo to swing.
