Sumo Cyco is an independent, female fronted punk metal based band in Toronto, Canada. Their sound blends heavy metal guitars with intense blast beats, dance hall rhythms, and powerful female vocals. The group's front-woman Sever is the alter-ego of former teen-pop singer Skye Sweetnam. Signed by Sony/ATV at 14, Skye performed in over twenty five countries before her 17th birthday, including a stint opening for Britney Spears. Seeking artistic control and a rock’n’roll direction, she moved away from major labels to form Sumo Cyco.
