Roda de Mujeres Ancestras at Control Club Bucharest

Five women from three different corners of the world will come into being through voice. Women from the Algerian desert, Colombia and the Republic of Moldova gather to hold the earth before our eyes. They carry the earth in their chests, roll it through their bodies, only to release it again as voice. Women of the earth are the mothers of the earth. Roda de Mujeres Ancestras is an embrace of women across the world - those made to create. They will sit in a circle, face to face: From Algeria: Souad Asla, Birk Mabrouka, Chadad Sabrine. From Colombia: Nelda Piña and Alvaro Llerena Martinez. From the Republic of Moldova: Suzana Popescu, Vali Boghean, Valeriu Cascaval. From Romania: Marin Alexandru and Mircea Ardeleanu. We will witness an act of creation. The encounter will be raw, primordial, ancestral. At Roda del Mundo its sung at first sight, at the very first meeting. Musicians from different cultures play without knowing each other, seated among us. And they recognize one another through sound. It works with energy, with complete openness, with the soul. That is what makes Roda del Mundo a privileged, unrepeatable moment. Music exists across the whole earth. When it meets again, it recognizes itself - quietly, or rather through song. It carries that secret within. Music is the mantra of the earth.
