Ο μεγάλος Αμερικανός σαξοφωνίστας και συνθέτης, ένας από τους πρώτους καλλιτέχνες της τζαζ που πούλησαν ένα εκατομμύριο αντίτυπα με μία και μόνο ηχογράφηση, έρχεται στο Ηρώδειο στις 18 Ιουλίου στο πλαίσιο του Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών Επιδαύρου 2024. Μαζί του στη σκηνή το συγκρότημα Sky Quartet με κορυφαία ονόματα της παγκόσμιας μουσικής σκηνής όπως ο πιανίστας και καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής του Kennedy Center για την Jazz, Jason Moran, ο μπασίστας Larry Grenadier και ο ντράμερ Eric Harland. Σε μια συμμετοχή έκπληξη συμπράττει μαζί με τους, με τη λύρα του, ο Έλληνας μουσικός Σωκράτης Σινόπουλος. Special guest η Μαρία Φαραντούρη. Ο Λόιντ και η Μαρία Φαραντούρη συναντήθηκαν για πρώτη φορά στη γενέτειρά του, τη Σάντα Μπάρμπαρα της Καλιφόρνια το 2002. Έγιναν εκ τότε στενοί φίλοι και συνεργάτες και η συναυλία τους το 2010 στο Ηρώδειο μνημονεύεται ακόμα ως ένα από τα κορυφαία μουσικά γεγονότα της χώρας μας που γεφύρωσε τον τζαζ αυτοσχεδιασμό με την ελληνική μουσική, από τις αρχαίες μελωδίες έως τον Μίκη Θεοδωράκη και κυκλοφόρησε σε δίσκο με τεράστια επιτυχία. The great American saxophonist and composer, who has just celebrated his 86th birthday with the release of his new album The Sky Will Still Be There Tomorrow, brings to the Roman Odeon his exquisite Sky Quartet, which is comprised by internationally renowned soloists.
