The street sounds of the Colombia’s Caribbean meets merengue, champeta, punk, and hip-hop with precise percussion and inventive vocals. Formed in 2014, the trio quickly made their mark, winning Best Emerging Group at Sucre’s Festival de Gaitas de Ovejas in 2015. Today La Perla is composed of Diana San Miguel, Karen Forero, Lali De la Fauz and Giovanna Mogollón, all multi-instrumentalists and vocalists. Their sound is a blend of bullerengue, cumbia, merengue, gaita, and Creole champeta, delivering an energy that honours tradition whilst pushing it forward.
