Opening Junior Grachtenfestival
An uplifting, underground latin night.
The ÁMÀL Ensemble officially opens the Junior Grachtenfestival with a performance at the Tuinstadhuis in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. This collective of seven young musicians brings together diverse cultural backgrounds from Syria, Siberia, Mexico, and France. Their repertoire blends Arabic melodies and Latin grooves with free improvisation, exploring universal themes of departure, arrival, and hope. Formed as part of the Orchestre Partout talent development program, the ensemble provides a stage for musicians in the diaspora to share their unique sound palettes. Since its inception in 2010, the platform has helped newcomers reach major stages like the Concertgebouw. This all-ages opening event showcases their collaborative musical storytelling and highlights the next generation of global talent.
