''The Last International Playboys'' fullband

The Last International Playboys formed in Athens, Greece over a decade ago, amidst the economic crisis that overwhelmed the country. In contrast to the zeitgeist, the members of the band found common ground, not in anger, but in elegance. Their introduction to the music audience took place in the summer of 2015 with the release of their digital E.P. “Foreplay”, under the “Sound Of Everything” label. That forerunner of their full album included four songs. Their refined, fresh, clean but at the same side introvert indie-alternative sound created a bittersweet atmosphere, reminiscent of an elegant film noir. Rhythm and melody were the main ingredients of what dreams are made of. Over the following years, the band performed live hectically trying to establish a solid fanbase. Among other live performances in several clubs and venues, a standout moment was appearing at the “Rockwave Festival 2017” - possibly the biggest open-air festival in Greece – sharing the stage with artists like Sivert Hoyem and Placebo. In December 2021, following their debut E.P., the indie–rockers released their first full album “Who shot Roy?”. The title - suggested by the band's singer - is a homage to an iconic comic book hero from his childhood. “Who shot Roy?” features ten tracks, blending a wide spectrum of sounds and emotions. A journey from haunting introversion to hopeful joy. While the band occasionally winks at the vintage sound of the 60’s, the urban atmosphere of today is most of the time present. After a brief hiatus and two new recruits - on keyboards and drums - the band is back on the road, performing live and working on material for a new album.
