The performance will feature excerpts from his eighth album, “Seeing Red,” alongside classic straight-ahead standards. Rooted in traditional jazz while embracing contemporary phrasing and feeling, Mitcheltree brings a modern voice to classic jazz forms. Featuring bassist John A. Graves and drummer Marc Van Aken, this trio creates a remarkably cohesive sound and fluid interplay with a performance that is vivid, deliberate, and expressive.
