The Rasmus is a Finnish melodic alternative rock band, best known for their international breakthrough single “In the Shadows”, hailing from Helsinki, Finland. Originally formed of high school friends in 1994, the group won the Finnish equivalent of a Grammy for Best Newcomer in 1996 with their debut album. Following several gold-certified records in Finland, the band achieved massive international success with their 2003 album Dead Letters, which topped charts across Europe. Known for a dark, moody, and melancholic tone, the platinum-selling act has continued to release music and tour globally, maintaining their status as one of Finland's most successful musical exports.
