The Monkathon: World Premiere Screening
A homegrown, fast-paced free jazz night.
A world premiere screening of The Monkathon, a concert film documenting Miles Okazaki’s 2024 solo performance of Thelonious Monk’s complete works. Directed by Frank Heath, the film features set footage, interviews, and behind-the-scenes material. The event includes a live Q&A session with Okazaki and Heath. This project follows Okazaki’s acclaimed 2018 album WORK, which also tackled Monk’s songbook for solo guitar.
