Saburo Teshigawara: Bach - Bartók
A slow-burn, underground contemporary classical night.
Japanese dancer and choreographer Saburo Teshigawara presents a minimalist dance performance that merges movement with sound. Accompanied by his long-time collaborator Rihoko Sato, the performance explores the music of Bach and Bartók. On the sonatas for solo violin, the dancers' bodies curve and twist in a performance that aims to breathe the music and reach the essential through aerial dance. Part of the Cadences festival, this production is a co-realization with the Théâtre Olympia in Arcachon and the Opéra National de Bordeaux. The program features Bach's Partita for solo violin in D minor BWV 1004 and Béla Bartók's Sonata for solo violin.
