The I in the Mirror
An underground, slow-burn experimental night.
Bringing together performers and composers whose practices move between contemporary creation and deep engagement with Korean and European musical traditions, The I in the Mirror: Reflection offers a multifaceted view of the past where unexpected echoes surface across different contexts and times. The program features new compositions that take a contemporary perspective on heterogeneous traditions, searching for a shared language where boundaries become fluid. At its center is a newly commissioned work by Gitbi Kwon combining Korean daegeum bamboo flute and pansori voice with Western instruments and electronics, exploring shifting and transforming identities of sound.
