Swinging the East
A nostalgic, underground swing night.
Schönhauser Allee 36, 10435 Berlin, Germany
The Oskar Strock & Eddie Rosner Orchestra is the first ensemble in the world dedicated to reviving the once-suppressed music of Oskar Strock and Eddie Rosner. Strock, from Latvia, and Rosner, a Berliner, were pioneering figures in the swing and tango traditions of Eastern Europe and beyond during the Weimar Republic. Despite attempts by dictatorial regimes to erase their legacy, their work from the 1920s through the 1970s is brought back to the stage. This spectacular concert serves as the grand finale of the OSTPOL BERLIN Festival.
