Surinam Music Project
About
The spirit of Paramaribop lives on in the Surinam Music Project, a tribute to the legendary Surinam Music Ensemble founded in 1981. Their groundbreaking fusion of Surinamese kaseko and kawina rhythms with the harmonies of jazz and bebop created a completely new sound: Paramaribop. The Surinam Music Project exists of Franklin Ceasar Breeveld (saxophone), Glenn Gaddum Sr. (piano), Pierre Dunker (bass) and Eddy Veldman (drums).
