Soft Machine evolved from late-1960s psychedelic pioneers sharing stages with Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix into one of Europe's defining progressive jazz fusion and experimental rock groups. The current lineup features veteran guitarist John Etheridge alongside Theo Travis, Fred T Baker, and Asaf Sirkis.
