Roma History Belongs Here
An underground, homegrown greek folk night.
The exhibition "Roma history belongs here" explores significant moments in the history, culture, and representation of Roma in Romania, proposing a critical dialogue about Roma in contemporary Romanian society. Part of the NARDIV – United in Narrative Diversity project, it uses photographs, archival materials, and video interviews to highlight Roma cultural identity. A special opening event on June 20th features a concert by the Matias Girls Orchestra (Orchestra de fete Matias), performing a repertoire including traditional Roma songs, lăutărească music, and tangos. The project reflects on who has the right to tell Europe's story and how a richer diversity of narratives can bring us closer together.
