Flying Lotus

Stephen Ellison, known as Flying Lotus, is a pioneering electronic musician and producer from Los Angeles. Born into a musical lineage as the nephew of John and Alice Coltrane, he has consistently pushed boundaries since his 2006 debut. His work spans experimental electronic beats, jazz-infused compositions, and hip-hop collaborations. Over his career, Flying Lotus has released critically acclaimed albums on Warp Records, including Los Angeles and Cosmogramma, which featured key collaborator Thundercat. He has worked with a diverse array of artists including Thom Yorke, Kendrick Lamar, and Snoop Dogg, and maintains a rapping alter ego known as Captain Murphy.
