One of Europe's most prominent chamber choirs, the Joyful Company of Singers, presents a programme of choral works both summery and sombre. The performance includes Benjamin Britten's Five Flower Songs and a celebration of composer Giles Swayne's 80th birthday. The repertoire features works by prominent composers such as John Rutter, John Tavener, Richard Rodney Bennett, and George Gershwin. The choir is joined by flautist Philippa Davies and cellist Ivan Rodriguez Deb for this special evening, which also includes a pre-concert talk by Giles Swayne.
