An underground, nostalgic ambient folk night.
Ida was founded in 1992 by NYC-based singers and guitarists Daniel Littleton and Elizabeth Mitchell. The group developed a unique minimalist brand of experimental pop, making their debut with 1994's luminous Tales of Brave Ida. The project evolved into a full band with the addition of Michael Littleton and Karla Schickele, earning critical acclaim for their subtle arrangements and rich harmonies. In the late 90s, the band signed to Capitol Records and recorded Will You Find Me, a collection featuring collaborations with Tara Jane O’Neil and Bernie Worrell. The album captures the band's transition between Brooklyn and Woodstock, exploring themes of family and domestic life. Their sound is characterized as hushed and private, often compared to the whispers of uncertain lovers in a dance of vulnerability.
