Minute Made Music
Modular supergroup takes a spectacular trip through time and space. Minute Made Music (MMM) is a large, shapeshifting ensemble that continues to evolve. The members will pop up in different constellations throughout the whole BIMHUIS, from the parking garage to the bar, after which they will join forces on stage. Let then take you on a ride with raw cumbia, crackling electronics, adventurous jazz, saxophone music from Ethiopian nightclubs, Dutch punk, hip-hop from Chicago and political absurdism on a bed of drum-’n-bass, classical strings and Senegalese griot singing. MMM originated in Amsterdam, but its members come from all over the world. They draw from all sorts of eras and movements. Pianist Oscar Jan Hoogland first brought the group together to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of our stage. That performance took place last year under the name A Trip Through the Years. ‘The more colorful it gets, the more it makes sense,’ said music journalist Peter Bruyn in his review. ‘At the end of the evening, there is only one logical conclusion: it was fantastic.’
