Kishi Bashi
Kishi Bashi, the stage name for Seattle-born artist Kaoru Ishibashi, is a distinguished American indie pop singer, songwriter, and producer. A classically trained violinist, Ishibashi has toured with artists such as Regina Spektor and Of Montreal and is a founding member of the synth-pop group Jupiter One. Since launching his solo career in 2011, he has received critical acclaim, notably being named favorite new artist by NPR's All Songs Considered following his 2012 debut album '151a'. His performances are known for their intricate use of loop pedals and beat-boxing to recreate the complex, layered sounds of his recordings solo.
