The Storyville Ragtimers
A nostalgic, danceable dixieland night.
The Storyville Ragtimers present a New Orleans street party at Kapnikarea, featuring a repertoire of Dixieland, ragtime, and blues. Formed in Athens in 2015, the group draws inspiration from the legendary sounds of New Orleans' Storyville district, Basin Street, and the Mississippi riverboat bands. Their influences include jazz icons like Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, and Sidney Bechet. The band has performed at numerous festivals including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Ballroom Festival and the Mykonos Art Festival. They are known for thematic tributes to Woody Allen film scores and the music of Louis Armstrong. Their debut album, 'The Storyville Ragtimers Live at Almagesti', was released in June 2023.
