A screening of Robert Wiene's landmark German expressionist film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920), featuring original music and live accompaniment. The performance creates a contemporary dialogue with the iconic black-and-white cinematography, reconstructing the film's evocative universe and dramatic tension through live musical interpretation. Part of the Contemporary Music Days festival curated by Ioannis Angelakis, which explores the meaning of 'contemporary' through a diverse program of acoustic, electronic, and hybrid works. The festival serves as an open field of coexistence for different readings of musical modernism and the avant-garde.
