Guitarist and composer Emmanuel Michael leads the Emmanuel Michael Group at Close Up for an evening of live jazz across two sets. Raised in South Dakota with Ugandan and Southern Sudanese roots, Emmanuel Michael is a New York City-based guitarist, Manhattan School of Music graduate, and Jazz Gallery Residency Commission recipient who has performed and recorded with leading jazz artists and ensembles including Ambrose Akinmusire, Dayna Stephens, Immanuel Wilkins, and the Village Vanguard.
