Atrocity este o trupa de metal din Germania, infiintata in 1985. Stilul lor a evoluat foarte mult de-a lungul timpului: au pornit din zona de death metal tehnic, dar au experimentat si cu elemente de industrial, gothic si symphonic metal. Sunt cunoscuti pentru faptul ca nu se limiteaza la un singur stil si pentru albumele conceptuale si atmosferice. Trupa este considerata una cult in scena metal europeana si are o cariera lunga, cu multe schimbari stilistice si proiecte conexe. Leaves Eyes este o trupa de symphonic metal formata in 2003. A fost creata de membri din Atrocity impreuna cu solista norvegiana Liv Kristine. Muzica lor combina: voce feminina melodica, elemente orchestrale si atmosferice, teme inspirate din mitologie nordica si istorie vikinga. Sunetul lor este mai epic si cinematic, in contrast cu stilul mai dur si experimental al Atrocity.
