Minimal Music Festival | OCCAM DELTA XXIII
Éliane Radigue is one of the great originals of contemporary music. Ensemble Klang has been collaborating intensively for many years with this icon, who is now in her nineties. Together with Carol Robinson, Radigue wrote two works for the ensemble: slowly transforming sound sculptures, abstract but breathtakingly beautiful. This weekend, Klang will perform both pieces within a light installation by Pavla Beranová. The installation is constructed from reflecting panels that respond to the vibrations of the music. As the light shifts with the passage of time during the day and night, the music, light and time merge. Although Radigue established her reputation as an electronics pioneer in the 1950s, she has exclusively composed acoustic works since 2005, creating cycles based on intimate collaboration with performers. There is no score. The entire process is passed on orally, centring on time, attention, and sensitivity. In 2021, OCCAM HEXA V materialised, followed in 2025 by OCCAM DELTA XXIII, inspired by the North Sea coast near The Hague. The combination of her meditative sound world and Beranová’s light landscape is a tribute to an utterly original spirit.
