A slow-burn, underground traditional folk night.
Award-winning singer and songwriter Emily Portman returns with a new solo project and album, Dominion of Spells. Known for her work with The Furrow Collective and her deep passion for traditional folklore, Portman’s latest material recasts old ballads and fairytales into contemporary shapes. The performance explores themes of midlife metamorphosis, magic, and female experience, blending dreamy piano accompaniments with rippling banjo and crystalline vocals. Having spent over 15 years as a celebrated presence on the British folk scene, this tour previews songs from her upcoming album alongside a collaborative ensemble of musical friends.
