Yuma Abe is a Japanese musician who began his career in 2014 as the vocalist and guitarist for never young beach before launching a solo career in 2021. His work is heavily influenced by the vibrant culture of 1950s and 60s Japan, often blending foreign influences with Japanese aesthetics to create an exotic, stylish sound. His debut solo album, Fantasia, featured mixing by Haruomi Hosono and guitar work by Devendra Banhart. Abe has performed at major festivals like Fuji Rock and Summer Sonic and has collaborated with international artists such as BTS’s RM. His latest creative project, Hotel New Yuma, is envisioned as a fictional variety show soundtrack set on a southern island, featuring a mix of skits, songs, and exotic vibes. Having previously toured the U.S. across 11 cities, Abe continues to expand his presence globally through his unique blend of folk and pop-influenced songwriting.
