Alasdair Pennington Quartet

Musician and composer Alasdair Pennington has established himself as a distinct and creative voice on the drum kit within the London jazz and improvised music scenes. An in-demand sideman, Pennington has performed and recorded with many eminent international artists across various genres. Joining him is Tori Freestone, who began her musical career in folk clubs and rose to prominence through academic study and performing saxes, flutes, violin, and vocals for diverse acts. The quartet is completed by John Williamson, whose writing is anchored by a focused melodic instinct, ranging from songbook harmony to Americana influenced by his time in the US, alongside standards for an intimate, expressive set.
