Acclaimed by critics as one of the best recordings of the Bonn master's sonatas, their 2016 album reflects the deep musical bond formed by their duo over many years. The five sonatas reveal Beethoven's evolving musical trajectory and his enduring interest in these two instruments, showcasing the depth of their bass tones and the energy of their articulation. The programme features the complete cello and piano sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonata No. 1 in F major, Op. 5 No. 1; Sonata No. 2 in G minor, Op. 5 No. 2; Sonata No. 3 in A major, Op. 69; Sonata No. 4 in C major, Op. 102 No. 1; and Sonata No. 5 in D major, Op. 102 No. 2.
