Jeremiah Lockwood

Jeremiah Lockwood is a scholar and storyteller, singer, guitarist, and composer with an expansive knowledge of musical traditions ranging from cantorial sacred music to Piedmont blues. His career as a musician and academic engages with issues arising from peering into the archive and imagining the power of lost forms of expression to articulate needs in the present. This performance features the duo Gordon Lockwood, consisting of Jeremiah Lockwood and percussionist Ricky Gordon. Both disciples of blues legend Carolina Slim, they have been making music together for over three decades, performing old-time blues, new-time rhythm, and ballads.
