New York-based saxophonist and composer Sam Weinberg leads a trio featuring Thorbjorn Stefannson on bass and Henry Mermer on drums. Weinberg is known for his distinct intervallic lexicon and has released several records since 2023, including work with Chris Lightcap and Tom Rainey. The evening consists of a 10:30 PM set followed by an 11:30 PM session. Sam Weinberg is a saxophonist, composer, and improviser from New York City. His work attempts to forge and develop a distinct intervallic lexicon which is both mutable and structurally coherent. He has released three records for trio since 2023 and has focused heavily on solo work in the last several years. He has performed with various constellations of artists including Nate Wooley, Eivind Opsvik, and many others.
