Originating in post-war Louisiana during the 1950s, swamp blues is a distinct subgenre of regional blues characterized by its atmospheric, eerie, and hypnotic soundscapes. This evocative style served as a pivotal influence on 1960s British blues-rock, blending melancholic vocal delivery with a raw, unpolished production aesthetic that captures the essence of the bayou.
