hilarious, depressing, and telling that the top review on here is by a dude who disses/admits he doesn't know anything about or even like the music/culture central to this film... and proceeds to give one star. There is more to this movie than reggae oh my god. Please have some respect. an use ur head.If u watch with vague knowledge, care and understanding u will understand the absences, needs and constrictions of working as a black British filmmaker with public funding and broadcasting in the last 3 decades... its a diff storyThis is so fucking good, a treat and such a particular time. The world needs more movies about black British women who MC and request Drum and Bass, dress to the 9s day in day out, and scam people at snooker. With messy complex lives full of love and live in spaces that mirror that. My only criticism is that the children are mostly a plot device but that is also hilarious to me; let the babies just chill on set! Been waiting for forever to see this, honoured to have the chance to! Only person in a Sunday 35mm screening..... some film bro shit... Someone link me the soundtrack ASAP[Breaking the 2021 no ratings rule for this literal GEM]
