I commend Xiu Xiu in their preservation of the originals baseline themes, while still creating something uniquely Xiu Xiu. This felt like true industrial, which makes me appreciate Lynch's influence on the genre even more. Sometimes it felt like an amateur student film, but then again, Eraserhead was too. I recommend watching this on a portable VHS TV your aunt gave you while construction workers fix your neighbors roof.

if the film Eraserhead is a planet, this music is the pollution, broken satellites, meteors, space dust, and dead extraterrestrials floating around that planet — J.S. from Eraserhead Xiu Xiu LP booklet field recordings, modular synths, and an industrial sound collage of experimental noise. transit, machine, body. Xiu Xiu's reinterpretation of David Lynch and Alan Splet's original soundtrack amplifies the minimalistic ambient soundscape. the visual undertones of dark sexuality fit seamlessly with the cosmology of Xiu Xiu and their reverence for Lynch's filmography. I am profoundly moved by Xiu Xiu's version of "In Heaven (Lady in the Radiator Song)," and hearing it live was surreal. grateful to have a recording from Krankenschwester, Berlin to listen to forever & ever. not much else to note besides how drastically different it is to witness the live score & performance in a crowded auditorium vs. alone in my room underneath a waxing crescent moon. both are special experiences in their own right I guess!
