I'm sure if I watched this now it would have absolutely no emotional effect on me but the tonal inconsistency of this thing scared the bejesus out of me as a kid. The stuff with the Chiodo Brothers trolls was scary enough but then to cut to Ernest mugging and doing impressions of old women made it somehow scarier for me. Like a clown making a balloon dog for you while your parents are screaming and being abducted by a home invader. I loved it.
