An ensemble, funny horror.
Just when you thought it was safe to sleep, Freddy Krueger returns in this sixth installment of the Nightmare on Elm Street films, as psychologist Maggie Burroughs, tormented by recurring nightmares, meets a patient with the same horrific dreams. Their quest for answers leads to a certain house on Elm Street -- where the nightmares become reality.

“Yeah, well, the map says we’re FUCKED!”Ya know, I used to think The Final Nightmare was terrible... I was one of the many people that thought it was a garbage trash fire of a movie but I was so wrong. Now, though? I kinda love this bizarre, fresh take surreal John waters episode of Twin Peaks and all of its weirdo 90’s choices and oddities.Lisa Zane, Lezlie Deane, and Yaphet Kotto are all super sold plus we get a little more mythos/Lore which I’m always a sucker for. I dig the empty elm street atmosfear, the addition of more adult characters, the amazing intro that I still think about at least once a week, and a supposed ending to the reign of one Fred Krueger.Freddy's Dead is helmed by the wonderul Rachel Talalay, who's resume included working on previous Elm Street entries doing just about every job possible plus work with John Waters which really shows here, in my opinion giving The Final Nightmare the freshest style the series has seen since Dream Warriors. Last year I did a double bill of the Crystal Lake Memories/Never Sleep Again documentaries and everything on Freddy's Dead was my favorite part so I made a mental note to to pop it in again—I'm glad I did...this is tons of fun, never boring, and I love this bizarro movie more every time I watch it.
Acting has left the chat
