It’s not a great movie, but at least it’s an honest one.It features Brad Pitt, a very talented dog actor, some beautiful natural scenery, a story that is somewhat predictable and not particularly interesting, though easy to follow, and a lot of heartwarming sentiment, perfect for masking a bit of squalid militaristic propaganda. This is the film. This is how it was presented, this is what it is, this is what it aims to be and this is what it remains until the very end, never trying to be anything else.If that’s enough for some viewers, good for them. But I still feel it belongs more on a streaming platform, to be watched casually, than in a movie theater.
