lab engineered Dad Movie
The soundtrack was solid, but that's honestly where my praise for this film ends. The movie has little to no dialogue, and I genuinely don't understand who thought that was a good idea. It's 2026, not the 1920s. Instead of feeling like a bold or creative artistic choice, it comes across as a substitute for actually writing compelling characters and dialogue. The silence rarely adds tension or emotion. It mostly makes scenes feel awkward and strangely uncanny. The biggest problem is that I never cared about the characters or the narrative, which is absolutely essential when you're making a film this dependent on visual storytelling. If you're going to strip away dialogue, everything else has to work overtime to keep the audience invested. This movie never does.Outside of a decent soundtrack, I was bored for almost the entire runtime. I can't say I connected with anything it was trying to do, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
The film follows a man in 1970s Detroit who plots a brutal revenge against the criminal who wrongfully imprisoned him and stole his life.
Potsy Ponciroli directed this 2026 action thriller, known for his previous work on the western film Old Henry.
No, the film is almost entirely silent, utilizing its soundtrack and visual storytelling instead of spoken words to drive the narrative.
