can marianne make a lotion to cure my fucking depression
In this modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, Elinor and Marianne find themselves penniless after their father’s fortune is taken away. As they look for ways to pay the bills, they encounter people who judge them and try to keep them down in the dumps. Add falling in love into the mix, and determining whom to trust becomes a mine field. Can the sisters find a balance between relying on their hearts and using good sense without losing everything they hold dear?

can marianne make a lotion to cure my fucking depression
There's an epilogue where it's revealed that Margaret, the youngest Dashwood sister with a "special kind of leukemia that's treatable but the medicine costs a lot of money" who has a total of like 15 seconds of screentime in the entire movie, is now healthy and raising therapy horses and there's a picture of the actress with some horses also it makes so much sense that this was filmed in Utah like the costume design was like so Mormon also there's a scene where (admittedly I wasn't paying attention to the beginning of this scene because I was on letterboxd reading reviews of this movie) I think Brandon cuts his hand while Marianne is showing him how she makes her special lotion and he's sucking on the wound so Marianne puts lotion directly on the wound to heal it and I just feel like if it was a cut (and I think it was because there was a knife on the table when I looked up from my phone) then applying lotion directly to open skin would not be a helpful thing to do but there was also a mortar and pestle on the table so he maybe accidentally started grinding one of his hands who knows either way I wouldn't have put lotion on it!!! Also my mom chose this movie for us all to watch I didn't choose it!!!! Just to be clear!
For some reason, I always thought Lacey Chabert was in this?? I don't know where I got that from, but anyway, Scents and Sensibility gave me strong From Prada to Nada vibes, and now I wanna go rewatch that.I knew I was gonna like it when I saw Marianne making lotion at the start, it actually fits her character so much. Also, the chemistry?? Tell me why I was smiling like a fool whenever she and Brandon & Elinor and Edward had scenes together.I didn't cry throughout (amazing feat, I know), but the ending with the title cards got me. Well played.
